Randy Marchany is the Director of VA Tech's IT Security Laboratory and the University's Assistant IT Security Officer.
He is a co-author of the original SANS Top 10 Internet Threats, the SANS Top 20 Internet Threats and the SANS Consensus Roadmap for Defeating DDoS Attacks. He was a recipient of the SANS Institute's Security Technology Leadership Award for 2000, the VA Governor's Technology Silver Award in 2003 and the EDUCAUSE Excellence in Information Technology Solutions Team Award in 2005.
